Emerald City Coworking – 4 Amazing Spaces in Seattle
Today we’re back looking at fantastic coworking spaces across the country. One of my personal favorite areas, the Pacific Northwest, doesn’t get nearly the attention it deserves in the coworking world – which is surprising, due to the culture and nature of the individuals that work and live there. Because of that, today we’re going to look at some of the most fantastic coworking spaces in Seattle, Washington.
The Makers Space
Located moments from the water front, The Markers Space is the perfect combination of substance and style. Perched atop a hill, this coworking space boasts some of the best views in the city, while being located in an easily accessable location. Likewise, the space is huge! With an impressive 11,000 square feet of space The Makers Space is not only one of the largest – but most equipped coworking spaces in the region.
The reason I like this space in particular, is their absolute dedication to the coworker and the ideal of improving the coworking scene. Their space is designed in such a way to provide the best access to all that are working there, ensuring that people can communicate and mingle in a meaningful way, all the while providing all the amenities one would come to expect from a high-end coworking space. You can find out more about them here.
Impact Hub Seattle
Whenever mentioning coworking spaces in a city, it almost feels like cheating when I know an Impact Hub location is there. Their style and accessability are well known, with coworking spaces across the country, they are without a doubt one of the premier coworking developers. There’s not a lot to say about them that hasn’t been said before – they’re beautiful, affordable, and one of the more interesting traits; very well managed.
What really sets the Impact Hub Seattle apart is their role as an event space. This location in particular makes a point on hosting large events to help enrich their members while enhancing the community of the individuals that work there. These kinds of large social events are something that the modern worker often yearns for; the Impact Hub Seattle delivers in droves. If you want to find out more about them, you can do so here.
Office Nomads is the kind of coworking space that I love and want to see more of. While one of the smallest spaces on my list today, these spaces have a unique and important role in the coworking world – development of community. These kinds of spaces are perfect for the small teams and individuals; it lets people branch out and meet others in an environement that they may have otherwise never met. Furthermore, it helps develop a uniquely tight-knit community that you won’t find elsewhere.
What else is really cool about this space is that they’re a part of a campaign that I really enjoy – the coworking visa program. The Coworking Visa allows individuals to move between spaces when they travel, helping individuals who move around frequently to find a comfortable worspace that provides everything they need. These kinds of programs, though not only limited to visas, are excellent ways to use the power of groups to help subsidize a whole, and provide individuals with benefits they may have otherwise never had access to. You can find out all about the visa program, and Office Nomads, here.
Ballard Labs is a newer coworking space located centrally in Seattle dedicated to serving entrepeneurs and startups in the area. Located right on the waterfront, the space offers amazing views with a cozy, professional work environment. One of the cooler features of Ballard Labs is how much time and effort they put into making the individuals who work there feel welcome to their community. From event nights, to group introductions, Ballard Labs goes out of their way to foster a strong community among the individuals who work there. Ballard Labs is open, and looking for members for their community – check them out here.
